Founded by materials expert and veterinary physiotherapist, Kirsty Wilson, we combine technical fabric innovation with deep biomechanical knowledge to create high-performance products that enhance your horse’s comfort and wellbeing.

We believe equestrian gear should be built to last, designed to perform, and made with a conscience. That’s why we focus on ethical sourcing, circular design, and measurable environmental impact.

“My journey hasn’t been linear—but then, nothing worthwhile ever is.”

Kirsty brings over 15 years of experience as a fabric technologist, working with the Ministry of Defence, Regatta, and Bench Clothing. In 2017, after being made redundant and with a young son at home, she made the bold decision to retrain as a veterinary physiotherapist—a career shift inspired by her lifelong love of horses.

After several years rehabilitating ex-racehorses and working hands-on in equine physiotherapy, Kirsty was invited to consult for Horseware Ireland in 2023. It was there she noticed a gap: while outdoor apparel had made huge strides in performance and sustainability, equestrian products were lagging behind.

She set out to change that.

Where It All Began

Armed with a few rough sketches, a materials sourcing plan, and unwavering determination, Kirsty created the patent-pending Cirra Rug—an innovative turnout rug built to perform in all conditions and designed with a full lifecycle in mind.

From that one product, Cross Section Equestrian was born.
