Cross Section Equestrian was created to simplify horse care through purpose-led, intelligent design.

Most equestrian products don’t fail because of poor quality, but because they are designed in isolation — one rug for one condition, another for the next. The result is compromise, clutter, and constant decision-making.

Cross Section approaches horse care differently.

Our products are developed as purpose-led systems, not single-use solutions. Through modular design, considered materials, and real-world testing, we create products that adapt to the horse — not the other way around.

Every decision we make prioritises comfort, movement, and welfare, guided by clear design logic rather than trends or hype. The result is fewer products, better outcomes, and long-term value for horse owners who care about doing things properly.

Cross Section Equestrian is for those who value clarity over clutter, function over fashion, and solutions over excess.

“Horse care shouldn’t be complicated — it should be considered.”

Meet our Founder

Cross Section Equestrian was founded by Kirsty Wilson, whose approach to horsewear is shaped by both technical training and hands-on experience with horses.

Kirsty began her career as a materials technologist, spending over 15 years working with high-performance textiles and product development for demanding environments, including projects for the Ministry of Defence and technical outdoor brands. This work built a deep understanding of how materials perform over time — how they move, insulate, wear, and fail in real conditions.

Her career then took a more personal turn. Driven by a long-standing connection with horses, Kirsty retrained as a veterinary physiotherapist, working directly with horses in rehabilitation and ongoing performance care. Seeing first-hand how equipment, restriction, and poor design can affect comfort and movement highlighted a gap between what horses need and what many products provide.

Cross Section Equestrian was created to bridge that gap.

By combining engineering-led design with a practical, horse-first perspective, Kirsty set out to create equipment that works as a system — reducing compromise, simplifying decisions, and supporting the horse as it moves and adapts.

Beyond The Product

Helping Working Horses in India

Cross Section Equestrian was built to create more practical, thoughtful solutions for everyday horse care.

Alongside this, we’re beginning to build something further—supporting the treatment and recovery of working horses and donkeys in India, starting with small, direct cases.

We’re at the very beginning of that journey, and committed to doing it properly.
