Materials

100% Polyester

The outer rug is made from 1200D Polyester Ripstop with Durable Water Repellent Finish. This outer rug is the durable, protective layer.

The outer layer of performance liner is made from a polyester fabric and polyester based membrane, making it soft, supple, comfortable for your horse to wear whilst offering supreme performance. Due to its composition this membrane fabric is recyclable.

The insulation is a low profile polyester fibre fill, that offers warmth without the bulk. Keeping your rug light and packable.

The inner lining fabric is made from an anti-static, anti-microbial polyester taffeta. This aids skin health and coat shine.

Care Instructions

Caring for Your Outer Rug

Wash as often as you like.

Your outer rug is designed for easy care. It can be washed in a domestic
machine—an express cycle of around 1 hour works beautifully, but don’t be
afraid of those 14-minute quick washes. We've tried them and they do the job!

Wash at 40°C or less.

Ironing is optional (for the perfectionists among us - please send action pictures for our socials if you do)

Skip the tumble dryer. While the materials can handle it, the rug comes out nearly dry from the machine.

No bleach – unless “bleached horse rug chic” is your aesthetic (and you’re okay with the smell).

No dry cleaning – unless you’ve truly lost the plot. We're keeping things
planet-friendly and chemical-light.

Do You Need to Reproof the Outer Rug?

The outer fabric is finished with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) Finish and benefits from intermittent re-proofing.

If you do want to reproof, we recommend Nikwax Rug Proof – it’s PFC-free and highly effective.

Washing Your Waterproof
Breathable Liner

Yes, it can go in your home washing machine.

Wash at 40°C or less.

Use non-bio detergent.

Skip the fabric softener – it damages the waterproof membrane.

Add a second rinse and spin to remove detergent residue.

Line dry only. A slight mottled appearance while drying is normal—the
membrane absorbs some water but returns to normal once dry.

Do not iron – unless you’re wildly ambitious (we haven’t dared to try).

No bleach – unless you’re aiming to ruin it.

No dry cleaning – unless you're looking for an expensive way to wreck a rug.

Perfect Fit

We have worked hard to fit our rugs to many different body shapes to achieve a great fit for your horse. The rug has been designed to give full all round coverage from head to tail.

Conceal Front Closure

We have designed our rugs with a concealed front closure. Keeping your horse safe from getting tangled up on fences, hay nets or with other horses and their rugs.

Signature Storm Flap

The surcingles are protected by our signature storm flap. This not only keeps your horse safe, but protects the rug from rips and tears. By keeping the surcingles enclosed, it also stops the straps from getting wet and allowing water to seep into the rug through the stitch lines.

This feature keeps your horse and rug dry and safe.

When will my pre-order be delivered?

Stock is due to arrive into the UK, around Mid-September, we aim to have all pre-orders despatched by 25th September 2025.

What happens if I doesn't fit?

Please get in touch and we'll arrange for you to exchange it for a different size.

How fast is shipping?

We will send your order via DPD or Royal Mail on a 48hour tracked service.

What's the returns policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@cross-section-equestrian.com. 

If your return is accepted, you'll need to return the item at your expense unless agreed with Customer Services. In which case you'll be emailed a returns label and instructions on how to package and return your item. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalized items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
